Digital Apps and resources

Our digital team in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight have created a list of free, accredited, up-to-date online resources that can be accessed and utilised by Primary Care clinicians in consultations, through signposting, and shared with patients when they communicate with the practice.

We encourage all our Primary Care users to download the Excel file (below) which contains information and links to the Apps.

Asthma

Asthma UK feature resources for every step of a journey of a patient with asthma. 

They offer a range of action plans for children and adults in multiple languages. 

You will also find inhaler videos and a useful page on asthma attacks.  There is also a useful Asthma UK You Tube Channel with a range of patient videos.

DigiBete –  a single point of access for various information resources with regard to Diabetes. 

DigiBete is a video platform to share videos and educational resources. The content is designed to help support children, young people and families self-manage their own diabetes by extending the reach of clinical teams online.

Digibete aim to increase Education, Awareness and Training for Type 1 but are not a substitute for diabetes specialist HCPs. 

Digibete is a collaboration between clinical teams and a parent led initiative. The creation of this site together is a reflection of the wider values of Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

MicroguideThe South Central Antimicrobial Network (SCAN) Guidelines for Antibiotic Prescribing in the Community provide advice on the effective and safe treatment of infections commonly presenting in primary care and are based on NICE and Public Health England advice with input from local experts. 

The guidelines are available on the digital platform MicroGuide(R) – this can be accessed as an app on a phone, tablet device or via a web browser.
