CQRS - New Participation Only Service for Physical health checks for people with severe mental illness 2020/21
The following service will be offered out centrally by CQRS from the 26 November 2020:
Physical health checks for people with severe mental illness 2020/21
Physical health checks for people with severe mental illness is a NHS Digital General Practice Extraction Service (GPES) automated data collection. The purpose of the data collection is to measure the delivery of physical health checks for patients with severe mental illness (SMI) to reduce the levels of premature mortality for this cohort. This data will also help to monitor progress of the Long Term Plan commitments for Mental Health.
The first extract will collect a full year of data for the period 2019/20 and then quarterly thereafter. We would encourage all practices to accept the offer to be included in the first extract as this will provide a full year of data and a comprehensive evidence base to assess the delivery of SMI health checks.
Practices can still participate in GPES collections after this date, but will not be included in the first extract.
This is a participation only service, no data will be recorded in CQRS.
Practices should already have received the Data Provision Notice outlining the collection.
